Div_by_zero Posted October 8, 2015 Report Posted October 8, 2015 Looking to get a Fluke loop calibrator. The only only I've used personally is the 705. It works fine, but I really like the dial idea on the 707. ...then I realized that the 787 and 789 are loop calibrators plus more, seems like a lot more value there perhaps? Which one do you prefer and why? Also, I'm not quite sure I see much of a difference between the 787 and 789 other than the ability to use Fluke Connect on the 789?
Mendon Systems Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 I have the 787. It works great and makes the perfect all-in-one tool to lug around in your tool bag.
RussB Posted October 9, 2015 Report Posted October 9, 2015 (edited) There is considerable differenc in the physical specs between the 787 and 789. http://www.fluke.com/fluke/tten/Process-Calibration-Tools/Loop-Calibrators/Fluke-787.htm?PID=56131 http://www.fluke.com/fluke/tten/Process-Calibration-Tools/Loop-Calibrators/Fluke-789.htm?PID=56133 The 789 uses 4 AA batteries instead of 1 9VDC battery. The 789 is nearly 50% heavyier and considerably larger too. IMHO, the the 789 is a better value but the 787 simpler to use and easyier to store. Edited October 9, 2015 by RussB 1
Div_by_zero Posted October 10, 2015 Author Report Posted October 10, 2015 Good info guys, thanks. I didn't realize that the 789 is so big. That definitely is something to consider.
jawolthuis Posted October 19, 2015 Report Posted October 19, 2015 I also have the 787. It's a great tool.
