runningman22 Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 Hello, I have a problem when some users that have created a project .rsv file. They open the Project but get the below error message. Couldn't open VBA project file. Cause: Error accessing the OLE registry. If you click OK the message goes and the program opens but the program does not function as it should. This also occurs with local administrator account. The computers are running Windows 7 SP1. RSView32 is version 7.60.00 I am also getting this other error when opening a project. Fails to update Source DSN! Any advice to resolve both of the above errors would be appreciated. Thanks
kaiser_will Posted November 4, 2015 Report Posted November 4, 2015 RSView32 is an older application. What operating system are you trying to open this file in? What version RSView32 was this project developed in? What version of RSView32 are you trying to open this project in?
runningman22 Posted November 4, 2015 Author Report Posted November 4, 2015 OS is Windows 7 64 bit SP1 - Enterprise Edition RSView 32 version was produced/developed using 7.60.00 Users are trying to open the project using version 7.60.00
Jabercrombie Posted November 15, 2015 Report Posted November 15, 2015 RS View32 is a 32 bit program and cannot run in a 64 bit OS. It will load but will not run.. Try using it with a 32 bit OS of Win 7 or XP
runningman22 Posted November 17, 2015 Author Report Posted November 17, 2015 Many thanks I will try 32 bit Win 7.
kaiser_will Posted November 17, 2015 Report Posted November 17, 2015 A work around for this situation, if you cannot install a 32-bit OS or upgrade, is to purchase a seat of VMWare Workstation ($250 a seat, one-time purchase). You can download and try VMWare Workstation for free for 30 days. You download and install VMWare Workstation, grab a 32-bit OS disc from IT (that has a license available), create a 32-bit VirtualMachine, then install RSView32. From a past post, RSView32 is compatible with Windows 7 32-bit (RSView32, versions 7.20 on up). http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?showtopic=25260
