kaare_t Posted November 9, 2015 Report Posted November 9, 2015 Well it looks by the motor "plate" that the motor can reach up to 20A during normal operation, while the FRA unit delivers up to 17A normal load... The motor "plate" also states 380V/400Hz/12000rpm. Have you taken into account the frequency it is supposed to run on?? The FRA outputs a maximum of 120Hz (and this is supposed to be ~100% over rated frequency - 50/60Hz). I think you're trying to connect a servo-motor to a frequency inverter which I doubt will work.

So that means the A740 is not outputing enough current for the HSd spindle, got it. On the label for FR-A740 stated 400Hz, but why is it only 120Hz can be set in the Parameter setting? The HSD is a High Spedd Spindle Motor used in CNC Router. kaare_t Posted November 13, 2015 Report Posted November 13, 2015 You could try, without purchasing a bigger inverter, to set parameter 18 to 400Hz (which is the absolutely maximum for this inverter). I investigated a little bit, and it seems it actually should work to connect a high frequency AC motor to the FR-A. Try that first, allthough the motor states a higher current than the inverter can output during normal operation.
