Julser Posted January 20, 2016 Report Posted January 20, 2016 Hi everybody! Recently I've got problem with installation of GXW2 on my PC There is a message "Any of the MELSOFT products or other software may not be installed normally. Please restart computer before installing this product" during installation. Of course I restarted PC)), delete all Melsoft products from my PC, use regedit, try to install various version of GXW2 and so on, but with no success(( (although GX Developer or MT Works can be installed on my PC without problem) Anybody knows how to solve this issue? (Please don't say to reinstall PC OS. Unfortunately it is not easy in my case) Thank you in advance! Quote
Ron_S Posted January 25, 2016 Report Posted January 25, 2016 It won't install on a 64 bit system. And with windows 7, 32 bit you have to have all the permissions. Quote
Julser Posted January 25, 2016 Author Report Posted January 25, 2016 Ron_S, Thank you for your advice, but it is not problem of Win7 64 bit system... I've successfully installed and used a lot of MELSOFT packages on my PC before But I've got installation problems after I unistalled SoftGOT s/w from my PC..... Now I couldn't install MELSOFT at all )) Quote
kaare_t Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 My quess is that the SoftGOT uninstalled some common components. Melsoft packages share a lot of files and drivers. If you have any CD/DVD with the "Melsoft Environment" package, try reinstalling just this package. Quote

matthint1 Posted September 25, 2020 Report Posted September 25, 2020 I've ran into this issue with several of the computers at work. The only thing that seems to work for me is to boot into safe mode and install all the software. To do this, click on the windows logo on the start bar and type "msconfig". Open the application and go to the boot tab. Select Safe Boot, hit apply, and reboot the computer. Once you've installed all the software, go back into msconfig and turn off Safe Boot. Hope this helps. 1 Quote
DWIM Posted September 17, 2021 Report Posted September 17, 2021 Hi, Although it is an older thread, I wanted to say "Thank You" to matthint1. Switching to "Safe Mode" worked for me too to install GX Works 1.077F. I had the same error as Julser under "normal" computer state. But it worked well in "Save Mode". One exception, the setup could not install the drivers (Safe Mode does not load drivers). I had to acknowledge abaout 3 Setup failures which said the setup failed. Fortunately the GxWorks setup is constructed as a collection of many setups. So the rest went through. Then, after rebooting i switched to "Unsafe Mode" (HaHa !!!) and reinstalled the whole package again. This time the drivers installed sucessfully. Yes Matt, it helped! Quote
MrBrick Posted August 10, 2022 Report Posted August 10, 2022 Two ways that should fix it. 1. go to:https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/topic/fix-problems-that-block-programs-from-being-installed-or-removed-cca7d1b6-65a9-3d98-426b-e9f927e1eb4d Run the Windows troubleshooter. Reboot. 2. Open the registry editor in Windows. Go to: 32-bit OS. HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce 64-bit OS HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce Delete all Keys like: InstallShieldSetup InstallShieldSetupx 1 Quote

I deleted the registry entry like you suggested and it fixed it. The only way I found to prevent this is to sign into windows with an administrator account. Otherwise, I would have to modify the registry. Thanks. Quote
