Raffali Posted April 7, 2016 Author Report Posted April 7, 2016 (edited) hello crossbow.. my setup is i have a static wide area network (WAN) ip address and that ip address will be use in order to comunicate with plc.. the static or fixed ip address for WAN is 10.61.47.237 and subnet mask 255.255.252.0 while my plc ip address is 192.168.1.x and subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 so am facing a problem to communicate with plc by using this ip addresses and subnet mask.. am also done the ping test and said that it is ureachable am also dont really know the suitable communications that should i use in the CX-Programmer version 9.2 do you have any suggestion? p/s : its more like industrial networking.. i would like to monitor the plc for a long range in distance..for example the pc is in my house and i can control or monitor or even edit a new program and upload to that plc through Ethernet.. Johanb Posted April 7, 2016 Report Posted April 7, 2016 Raffali . first things first ; A World Arrya Network in short WAN is the connection to the internet . Local Arrya Network in short LAN is the network inside a sructure . to connect a device in the LAN to the Internet ( WAN ) you need a device that makes the translated message . this device is calles a modem . so to communicate with your PLC you need to connect it to a modem or better a modem router . set the WAN parametrs according to your info . set up a local network . easy way to make it work is to buy a Ewon modem install that at the remote site . and with a inlog coded VPN connection you then can connect to the PLC . good luck . regards Johan . But if i have two ports of LAN.. what should i do regarding to connection of PC and PLC? One for PC and the other one for PLC? or am still should have the modem router in order to communicate with PLC and use only one port LAN instead of two? Quote
Raffali Posted April 10, 2016 Author Report Posted April 10, 2016 Dear Jay I have done the ping for my PLC ip address but its not reachable... So if am do the ping for the default ip..then i have to set the node at the PLC equal to zero also? Quote
Jay Anthony Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Work with one PC port until you succeed. The you can add the second PC port later. Quote
