JBird1229 Posted April 8, 2016 Report Posted April 8, 2016 Hey guys, I know this is a topic that has been discussed before, but I am having trouble finding exactly what I am looking for.. I want to know the most efficient way to record data from my PLC to an Excel file on my PC. I want this to be done without the use of the PLC's webserver. Specifically I am trying to record vfd speed every 10seconds with a time and date stamp. How can I do this? Thanks, James Quote
TravisPedley Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Kepware and an excel logger. we have used XLReporter from Sytech, should work fine for what you want. Could also use a Redlion DataStation Plus to do it as well, probably easier to set up and the software is free (the hardware isn't but it is cheaper than Kepware and XLReporter). Quote
Mark- Posted April 10, 2016 Report Posted April 10, 2016 Hi, PeakHMI might be a good fit and cost a bit less. Quote
pop29684 Posted April 11, 2016 Report Posted April 11, 2016 Any OPC server would probably work. I've been told that it adds no extra burden to the processing time of the CPU but I have not verified this. Quote
progpro Posted November 3, 2021 Report Posted November 3, 2021 (edited) You could probably use 'S7 Excel Connect' for live and logging data in Excel without the use of the webserver or other third pary software. Edited March 25, 2022 by progpro Quote
