miguelrz10 Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Good day everyone, As everyone knows, NB designer is not as good as CX-designer in general terms. My case is this one: All systems at my company use NS series and some of them NT series PT's. So there're 20 of them, or so. Now, I have bought a new NB5Q-TW00B, and I need to program it. Is it possible to migrate the program from a NT or NS, to a NB ?? I've read you have to design all the project again. It'd take value time just to copy the same project. I think it should, because it's the same brand of Operator Panel, Omron. Thanks. Quote
Jay Anthony Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Quote I think it should, because it's the same brand of Operator Panel, Omron. And there is where the rub lies. Omron makes the hardware. Someone else makes the firmware. What model NT or NS are you converting to NB5? Screenshots and jpegs come to mind. 1 Quote
miguelrz10 Posted May 13, 2016 Author Report Posted May 13, 2016 The NT one is NT31C-ST141B-EV1. And the NB one is a NB5Q-TW00B. When I've had to migrate the program from NT to NS, it's easy to do it. This case I've not found a simple solution. Do I have to create all design again to NB series? (there're about 50 tabs, it'll take a long time). Thanks. Quote
Michael Walsh Posted May 13, 2016 Report Posted May 13, 2016 Unfortunately, yes. There is no translation utility. Quote

Ok, It's a bit disappointed not to have the hability of migrating the program, with the fact they both are made by Omron (even whether the firmware is by someone else). Thank you for your support. IO_Rack Posted May 18, 2016 Report Posted May 18, 2016 Omron's solution is to convert to an NS series HMI. I've done this conversion (NT to NS) several times and it is very good compared to most manufacturers. The NB is a low cost HMI. As with most manufacturers, you get what you pay for. Quote
