FX5u high speed counter

hello,right now i am doing a project to calculate the speed of a conveyor using a encoder,i am using fx5u plc and the sofware is gx works 3 which is new,do i need to configure the high speed counter or can i simply use the high speed counter,because in gxworks 3 it is having some option to enable the high speed counter  special register to store current value of the pulse ,help m

You need to go to the parameters High speed IO and set up the counter as you want to use it.
