Hi,

I've recently bought a generic RS232/TTY cable for Siemens S5 PLC. I also bought a RS232 -> USB converter to connect the cable to my laptop. My problem is that when I connect from S5 to Laptop and run PG2000, I cannot load anything from the PLC as the program gets stuck. I think nothing is being read from the converter. Please help.

Here is my setup:

First of all:

if the black cable is the one from converter, then you have connect them into a wrong plug.

It must be connected to PG marked (the one close to orange EPROM).

If it is safe, disconnect the existing cable and put yours into PG marked plug.

Please let us know what  is your progress.

is that I want to say on my previous post.

the actual place where your black cable is connected belong to analog inputs signals.

I am happy that you succeed to be connected with CPU!

Do you think that you need more support?

If you think so, please describe the problem and add some print screens.
