santiago Posted December 9, 2004 Report Posted December 9, 2004 I am trying to install Step7 V4.02 on a PC with XP service pack 2, the program wont start after setup , giving a message " registry not properly set for simatic manager" (3280:503). Anyone have some experience in installing old vertions of S7 in XP service pack 2 ? I had installed succesfully the same simatic Vertion on a PC before service pack 2 , but now it wont work Quote
RMA Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 Don't know for sure if it will work, but maybe you could try using XP's ability to kid programs into thinking they're running on an earlier version. Even if that does basically work, I'd still be a bit worried about potential crashes later. I be tempted to load an older OS appropriate to V4, probably be safer. Quote
Guest lala_zai Posted December 10, 2004 Report Posted December 10, 2004 I was told that Step 7 works in Win XP but no guarantee on its functionalities bcoz it wasnt tested in Win XP. Quote
Guest Simatic Posted December 20, 2004 Report Posted December 20, 2004 Step 7 V4.02 will not run on WinXP SP2, in fact no versions of Step 7 are released for Windows XP SP2. The latest version is V5.3 + SP1 HF1 which is released for Windows 2000 (SP 1, 2, 3 & 4) and Windows XP SP1a. Support for XP SP2 should be in 1st Qtr 2005. Quote
