Kegraus Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 I have to add some elements in existing system with GS2107-WTBD and FX3u-64MR. I have GX Developer for PLC, but can't understand what I need for HMI. I have GT Designer 3 but it does not support GS2107, only GT SoftGOT1000. How can I upgrade it to support SoftGOT2000? Thank you
Gambit Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 You need to install GT designer for GT2000 and the GS installer after that
Akahige Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 GT Designer3 does not automatically support the GS Series when you install GTD3 software. You will need to run the GS Installer.exe file located in the Disk1\TOOL\GS directory of the GTWorks3 installation Disks to have full GS21 support.
JRoss Posted August 4, 2017 Report Posted August 4, 2017 <rant> Why do we have to do this? Why can't Mitsubishi either (a) Put the GS Installer in an obvious location and publish big notices that it needs to be installed or (b) simply add it to the installer script so nobody has to do anything? This seems like an idiotic oversight. I went through this the first time I tried to use a GS21, and have gotten a call from every one of my customers that gets GT Works 3 and tries to open a program file I've sent them. There's nothing in the software to alert you, no inserts in the HMI box, no notices on the website, and nothing in the manuals. Is tech support so bored they need people to call about things like this? </rant> 2
glavanov Posted August 5, 2017 Report Posted August 5, 2017 The last 3 release versions of GTD3 supports GOT2000/1000 and GOT simple(GS series) with standat installation. 1
Reinier Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 We had the simular 'issue'. We ordered GT-designer 3 for the GS2107, and it works fine. A week agoo, we had a guy from the mitsubishi (electric) dealer, wich recommended GX works for in the futre, wich has more functions. If I were you, I would look into that, and than purchase ine or another. Reinier
JRoss Posted October 3, 2017 Report Posted October 3, 2017 GT Works 3 (of which GT Designer is the main piece) is for programming HMIs. GX Works is for programming PLCs. The two packages are complementary, but serve completely different purposes.
