We are having a Toshiba Make inverter No. VFA3N-8075 used in textile machinery supplied by TEIJIN SEIKI. PLC (Actuator Controller Model Act C0000000) is also supplied by the same company. Presently many of these inverters are not working and we are not able to get it repaired. We are not getting even support from Tejin Seiki. Can you please suggest what other equivalent Inverters can be used in place of Toshiba’s VFA3N-8075. Other features of this Inverter is Input 300 VDC, Output 200 VAC 3 Phase, Frequency 0-400Hz, Power 5.5 Kw, Uses RS485 protocol to operate from a remote computer.

Dear Mr. Sodhani I have read your case about Toshiba VF3N and I am interested to help you solving the problem. I have coustmer (textile company, Teijin Machine) use similiar inverter and we success to repair. More than 500 unit inverter VF3N have repaired and operate again. If you have any question doesn’t hesitate to contact us. David Kristanto (davidk_e97@yahoo.com.au)

You are going to have a tough time with this. What you describe sounds like a "common bus" arrangement where you have multiple inverters feeding from a shared DC bus. Otherwise you wouldn't need to know what the internal DC bus voltage is. The only practical way to eliminate/replace this arrangement other than repairing and using what you have is to replace all of your drives sharing the bus with a drive system from another manufacturer. The interface between the PLC and the drive is also very important. Otherwise, a replacement won't work. And, you didn't specify enough detail about the drive to determine what sort of control system it provides if any (servo drive, vector drive, Volts/Hertz, etc.). All of this information would be necessary if you were to call a vendor and ask them to specify a replacement unless the vendor happens to be an expert in the textile business and knows something about your particular machine. That being said, I've had good luck with drives from both Yaskawa and Toshiba. If you call their phone numbers and ask for a representative, you might find someone helpful in your local area.
