redgated Posted October 24, 2018 Report Posted October 24, 2018 I have a Q03UDVCPU and an unusual application whereby the PLC is frequently powered down and the data needs to be backed up without a battery. I have already configured the SD card to carry the program and the initial data, but I have some program derived data that I would like to record at power down and restore on power up, previously this was straighforward with battery back-up but seems not so easy without. Any ideas please?
Gambit Posted October 26, 2018 Report Posted October 26, 2018 Make a File register file for the SD card and use the File register created in the Device setting.
redgated Posted October 26, 2018 Author Report Posted October 26, 2018 I thought that would be an option but how do I create the file register on the SD card? File register settings not available in Device at the moment.
Gambit Posted October 26, 2018 Report Posted October 26, 2018 You first need to create a fileregister file in the File Tab under PLC parameters !!!!! 3rd Tab plc parameters. top left
redgated Posted October 26, 2018 Author Report Posted October 26, 2018 Yes here I thought but I can't access the SD card!
Gambit Posted October 26, 2018 Report Posted October 26, 2018 Just checked you are right it is only possible om the Flash Card of the standard series. Maybe you can use. SP.FREAD (batch-reads data from the specified file in the memory card.) SP.FWRITE (batch-writes data to the specified file in the memory card.) OR Data back-up function (back-up standard RAM and use with Auto restore.)
