Ahmedhamdi Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 Hi every one, i have old injuction machine running through ge fanuc plc, and now i have lm90 but idont have any experience with it, i need your help. To pull the program from the.plc
Steve Bailey Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 (edited) You'll need to run Logicmaster on an older computer running nothing newer than XP. Best success will be on a machine with real serial port. I've not had much success uploading/downloading with Logicmaster through a USB/serial converter. Once you have Logicmaster running you can connect to any of the three serial ports. The two ports with cables connected in your picture are RS485. The unconnected port 1 I RS232. Are you sure the program in the PLC was created using Logicmaster? If it was created with VersaPro or Proficy Machine Edition, Logicmaster won't be able to open it. Ahmedhamdi Posted April 30, 2020 Author Report Posted April 30, 2020 Than you for reply, yes program is written using lm90 its old injection machine, i have download lm90 and i run in xp. But i didnt know how to open the file i have using lm90.there is option to creat new file but open existing file i couldnt do this , i have the files ..PKA , .PKC .PKL .PKO .PKR but i dont know how to open on lm90. I dont have good exp on logic master .
Steve Bailey Posted April 30, 2020 Report Posted April 30, 2020 Those files are backup files created by Logicmaster. Here's a method to use them. First, using Logicmaster, create a new folder using the correct name. Save it. Then go into edit mode and when Logicmaster asks if you want to make a backup, answer 'yes'. Add a rung of logic. It doesn't matter what you put in it. It will be overwritten when you restore from the backup files. Save your edits and exit Logicmaster. Now locate the project folder with Windows Explorer. The normal location is C:\LM90\Myfolder. You should also see C:\LM90\myfolder\Backup. That 'Backup' directory was created by Logicmaster. Copy and paste the PKA, PKC, PKL, PKO and PKR files into the C:\LM90\myfolder\Backup directory. Let the paste procedure overwrite the existing files. Reopen Logicmaster, launch your project and use Logicmaster's restore procedure.
Ahmedhamdi Posted May 7, 2020 Author Report Posted May 7, 2020 Thank you Steve that was a big help.and now i open the files on LM90 . Many thanks
Samsung2 Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 Hi steve: can you please share LM90 software?and does not need licence ?and please tell me does work versapro 2.02 can creat backup and restore for cpu 350? Thanks.
Steve Bailey Posted July 13 Report Posted July 13 People frequently ask me to send them Logicmaster software and my initial response is always the same: Why do you think you need it? Logicmaster is a DOS application that has been obsolete for more than a quarter century. There have been three different programming software packages from GE/GE Fanuc/Emerson since it then, and if the program in your PLC was written using any of them, Logicmaster won't be able to touch it. You will need to run Logicmaster under a 32-bit operating system if you need to upload or download since Logicmaster's serial communications driver isn't compatible wit a 64-bit OS. If your program was created using Logicmaster, the current software from Emerson called PAC Machine Edition will almost always be able to import the Logicmaster file or upload it from the PLC. Bottom line, convince me that you really need Logicmaster and I'll be happy to share it with you. But you'll quite likely find that the current software is easier to use.
Samsung2 Posted July 14 Report Posted July 14 Hi Steve, thank you very much for reply, sorry again my os is 32 bit and xp sp3 .no problem .please if you have share software. Thanks and best regards.
Steve Bailey Posted July 15 Report Posted July 15 You did not answer my primary question. Why do you think you need Logicmaster rather than something more current?

Thank escape road 2 To effectively pull the program from your GE Fanuc PLC, it's essential to understand that Logicmaster is outdated and may not be compatible with newer programming software; instead, consider using PAC Machine Edition, which can import Logicmaster files and is more user-friendly for modern applications.

Steve Bailey Posted July 16 Report Posted July 16 I have uploaded LM90 version 9.05 to my Google drive. Send me a private message with your email address and I'll add you to the share list. Do you need instructions on how to restore from your backup files?
Samsung2 Posted July 17 Report Posted July 17 Thank you very much for reply. Please send me instruction. Best regards.
