The demo version will not communicate to an Alpha. It's only for offline demo. To connect to the Alpha, you need to buy the Alpha software. It should cost about $75 US.

alpha softwer 2.31 is old softwer and is not licensed.

Actually it is licensed. In the box it shipped in was a copy of the license, as shown below... See sections 1 and 3. It just does not have copy protection. There is a difference. And the current version is 2.33. From the license agreement you said ACCEPT to during installation: 1. GRANT OF LICENSE. This License is effective until terminated. This License will terminate automatically without notice from MEAU if you fail to comply with any provision of this License. Upon termination, you shall destroy the written materials and all copies of the SOFTWARE, including modified copies, if any. 7. UPDATE POLICY. MEAU may create, from time to time, updated versions of the SOFTWARE. At its sole option, MEAU will make such updates available to its licensees and authorized transferees who have paid the update fee and returned the Registration Card to MEAU at the above address. 8. MISCELLANEOUS. This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States of America.

I'm sure you understand the risks involved for the hosts of this fine site if it becomes used for illegal software copying. The PLC makers do not take kindly to software piracy. It's better for the forum to have a zero tolerance policy and not end up on the wrong side of the law...
