Difference between 12 vdc encoder and 5-24v dc encoder with same resolution.

Hi, any difference between 12 vd enconder and 5-24vdc encoder with same resolution ?l mean the output of such both encoder will be same or vice versa if i connect it to plc?what should i need to do because the manufacturer do not have 12vdc encoder but recommend 5-24vdc encoder? Thanks

it would be much better to see part numbers and links to datasheets of both encoders. if everything is really matching and only supply is different as mentioned, it should be ok. at least that should take care of electrical compatibility.
