CSEngineer Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) Hi everyone. I need help with iQ-R system. Is it possible to connect an additional expansion bus to an existing system without powering down? Also, can I install new I/O module (RX40C4) to an existing system at hot state (like a hot swap)? Crossbow Posted February 19, 2022 Report Posted February 19, 2022 No and No. You will need to update the I/O Map in the controller to add more modules, and this cannot be done without stopping the CPU and downloading an updated project. And modules should not be removed under power, you will error out the CPU and crash the line. Quote

pturmel Posted February 20, 2022 Report Posted February 20, 2022 Depends what duties that CPU is doing in your system. It is common for the duties to be critical, so total production stoppage is normal for CPU stop. Quote
