kdshaw87 Posted April 4, 2022 Report Posted April 4, 2022 Good Morning, We are in need of a solution to connect the pro-face HMI GP4301TM to a FX3G-40M mitsubishi plc. Every time we connect the cable to the front port on the PLC (the 9 pin circular port) the HMI mentions that the cable is disconnected or the PLC is off. We currently are trying to connect WITHOUT the FX-232, FX-485, or FX-422. It seems if this is done terminal coupling resistances need to be installed. Is the above (without any input modules) doable to the listed HMI? If so what is the preferred communication protocol, the correct port (Com 0, 1, or 2) and the correct wiring from the 9 Pin db9 connector port on the front of the FX3G-40M. Thank you! attatched are the photos of my current settings on both PLC and HMI Quote
Thiago Turcato Posted April 5, 2022 Report Posted April 5, 2022 Hi kdshaw87, The PLC 8-pin front port (MiniDIN 8) is RS-422 (4-wire), not RS-232. Appearently your HMI is set for RS-232, what seems incorrect. Another important point is the protocol. Does Proface driver for Mitsubishi mentions which protocol it does use? The PLC front port only accepts programming protocol, not MC Protocol in any format. The front port is "CH0" so, the serial port parameters you sent does not apply to front port, only to extension ports, what is not your case. Regards! 1 Quote
