Hello.

I'm having CJ1M unit with ETN21 card on remote site.

I can't drive to the site and look at the rotary switches to determine what is the units NODE NUMBER.

I can connect to the PLC remotely using CX-Programmer.

Is it possible to read the setting of NODE NUMBER remotely?

Is this NODE NUMBER settings saved somewhere in CIO or DM area?

Thanks.

BR, Andrej.

I mean  NODE NUMBER set by rotary switches.

I know that the last octet of IP  should be NODE NUMBER.

But in my case isn't so.

So the question remains:

Is this NODE NUMBER settings saved somewhere in CIO or DM area?

Here you go. These are rotary switch unit numbers. I guess this is what you are looking for.

How are you connected? I would think your CX-Programmer Network Type Settings would have this information if you are connected.

If the last octet of your IP does not match the FINS Node Address then the conversion type must be "IP Address Table" rather than "Auto". Is there another PLC or device on the network where you would be able to see the FINS Node Address?

Unfortunately, I was unable to find the information you are looking for.

ANdrejP,
If you are connected to the PLC, its IP address is known.
If the NODE selectors are in discrepancy, PLC is in error.
If no such error, the NODE selectors are set exactly to the last octet of the IP address,
keeping in mind that the IP address is decimal, while the selectors are hex.

For FINS node number, which is typically the same as the last octet of the IP address, but not necessarily,
open I/O table, double-click the unit, upload the port setup from the unit and see the IP address table under the FINS/UDP tab.
