Kim Jessen Posted September 18, 2023 Report Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) hi, I'm trying to find out what kind of HMI panels can be used for a LOGO!8 ethernet plc. are panels from simens that can be used... they are a bit expensive Edited September 18, 2023 by Kim Jessen Quote
Crossbow Posted September 19, 2023 Report Posted September 19, 2023 Logo isn't really a PLC, it's intended to be a programmable relay. A PLC would have more options for HMI. I do not recall anyone other than Siemens making a small one to talk to Logo. Quote
acpi Posted September 21, 2023 Report Posted September 21, 2023 Morning, Weintek panels can communicate with Ethernet Siemens Logo. They're cheaper than Siemens hmis even if KTP ones are not so expensive than that and work with Logo too. http://dl.weintek.com/public/PLC_Connect_Guide/Siemens_LOGO_Ethernet.pdf JC Quote
Wasan Posted September 21, 2023 Report Posted September 21, 2023 If you use LOGO!8 for V8 or later it can be set communication to be Modbus TCP Server then you can use any HMI Touchscreen that can use with Modbus TCP connection. 2 Quote

Good to know... haven't had the chance to use one in a few years... 1 Quote

Wasan Posted September 27, 2023 Report Posted September 27, 2023 @Kim Jessen Do you need to connect PLC LOGO!8 to RS Pro HMI by ethernet connection alright? RS Pro HMI seems use Wecon PIStudio Software for configuration. On your example video is configured with S7-1200 with S7 connection. For use with LOGO!8 they can use with S7 connection too by compare LOGO!8 variable to be in DB1 like this link https://www.promotic.eu/en/pmdoc/Subsystems/Comm/PLC/LOGO.htm but you need to familiar with TSAP Local / Remote setting I recommend to open Modbus TCP Connection on LOGO!8 then use Modbus TCP driver on RS Pro HMI is easier to connect it. Kim Jessen Posted September 28, 2023 Author Report Posted September 28, 2023 Hi everyone.. thanks for your input. I have given up and taken a different angle of attack.. I have invested in a s7-1212C plc. there I got connected. so that's where I continue. if someone comes up with a brilliant solution for the LOGO module, I think more people will be happy. but right now it's beyond my abilities.
