Random Al Posted September 28, 2023 Report Posted September 28, 2023 I am having a problem on S7/Profibus. There are a number of identical ET200 RIO nodes. While the equipment was down between orders a fault appeared for loss of one of the nodes on inspection the BF light was flashing. Cable and hardware were verified, then the address was swapped with another identical node. The problem followed the address. In HW Config this address shows a red slash through it. I typically work on AB products so I have limited experience with S7/Proifbus but do have access to the SW and I am familiar enough to poke around. Any suggestions would be helpful.
Hati Posted September 30, 2023 Report Posted September 30, 2023 Firstly, go and see the PLC diagnostics buffer, to see the cause for the error. Post a picture of the hardware configuration in Online mode, so we can see the symbols on the nodes.
slcman Posted October 6, 2023 Report Posted October 6, 2023 I would check the end of line resistor. On Siemens Profibus connector, there is a red tab on it with ON and OFF position. I've seen people change it by error while working in the panel. The network stop where the resistor is ON. Only the last node should have the switch at ON position.
