Adding an I/o expansion module to existing project

Hi i m new to Omron. I have a Sinking In  CPU-CP1H-Y20DT- D. Now i need to ad another I0 Module to the existing project but i have a Source IN module CP1W 20EDT1. Can i use the mentioned I/0 with the Sink in CPU

Please also guide me with the steps to add it Using CX programmer.

Yes, that module can be used.

There is no configuration in CX Programmer for the "CP" style expansion modules. Just plug it in and the I/O is allocated automatically. Since your CPU is 20, CH0 and CH1 are used for the built-in I/O and it looks like CH2 will be used for the first expansion module of IN type.

Manual W450, section 4-2-3 shows a diagram that will make it very clear to understand.
