J2870 Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 Rather new to Mitsubishi and networking in general, but I am trying to move a scanned part number from the FX5U data register D1000-1016 to an Omron NX102-9000. I really have no idea where to start in GX Works 3 to identify and send the data. Quote
Gambit Posted December 17, 2024 Report Posted December 17, 2024 Have a look at simple plc communication. Does the omron plc fall under CP/CJ series? Or does it support modbus TCP/IP ? Quote

Crossbow Posted December 18, 2024 Report Posted December 18, 2024 I believe there are Modbus TCP function blocks for the NX102. They may be built in or it may be a library that can be downloaded, I don't recall which. I don't have the software on this computer to double check, but will try later this evening. NJ and NX Series are not CP/CJ Series. Quote
Crossbow Posted December 19, 2024 Report Posted December 19, 2024 There are instructions in the NX102-9000 called ModbusTCPRead and ModbusTCPWrite that may be able to help you with this. You may also be able to do this with Socket communications, though I have not personally done either of these. Quote
Solution J2870 Posted January 3 Author Solution Report Posted January 3 So in the interest of communicating solutions, I did end up using the "Simple PLC Communication Setting" under FX5CPU->Ethernet Module on GX-Works 3. I had already tried it, but I what I was missing is that on the Omron NX102-9000 side you can only use Port 2 for data transfer. I did this already, but just to note, make sure you enable the specific memory check box you are writing to on the Omron side under Sysmac studio. Quote
