How do I convert different versions of TIA programs to each other

I often encounter different versions of TIA programs in projects, so I have to install different versions of TIA on my computer. I would like to ask if you have tools that can convert different versions of TIA programs into each other, thank you

It's been a while since I had Portal on my PC, but as I recall you can import the older files into newer versions with little issue. It's complicated by the fact that the PLC then has to also be upgraded to the newer version. In my experience (mostly with Simatic Manager, so Portal may well be better), downloading DBs especially gets tricky to make sure you have the correct current values saved in your offline file. I had a procedure I tested and used, but that was in S7-300s under Simatic Manager. I'm sure Portal is a different process. I didn't have a lot of time to learn it before I changed locations and we don't use it here. You can reach out to Siemens support and/or your local Siemens distributor for help with this. Or, I'm sure others on here will chime in.

You can open the project with newer TIA versions and it will ask if you want to upgrade the project to the newer TIA version. Then you need to download the upgraded project to the PLC before you can go online. But before all of this, you should take snapshots of the DB's and then move snapshots to start values and after that save the project and open it in the newer TIA version.  This is for 1200 and 1500 series PLC's. With 300 and 400 series you need to uoload the DB's to the offline project and then you can upgrade to newer TIA version. With older PLC's you will have a problem that the latest TIA doesn't have support for the older PLC's so you can't upgrade them to newer TIA verison.
