Here is an application where everything is sequenced in an Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC using ladder logic. The Cognex camera is talking Ethernet/IP to the PLC, and the PLC is using Yamaha’s RCX340 AOIs (add-on instructions) to move the robot around. This vision guided application is very simple with the Cognex camera sending real world tool center data calibrated from the cameras Insight spreadsheet program directly via Ethernet/IP to the PLC tag registers. The source code includes the Cognex job file, Allen Bradley CompactLogix PLC version 24, Panel View 1000 version 10, and the Yamaha RCX340 backup .ALL file.
