We recently had our laptop die on us, which has the source code and password for a customer project we completed.

Is there any way to retrieve the source code from the HMI using GT Designer 3, without having to enter the password that we lost ?

The usual process is to remove the hard drive from the failed laptop and use a USB adapter to read the drive. (or then use hard drive recovery software)

Thanks - but the laptop and hard drive is in heaven now.

Since posting this message, it has been explained to me that it's impossible to 'crack' or bypass the password on the HMI, in order to suck the original code out of the HMI.
