Cannot connect to Magelis HMISTO532 via EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic

Hi everyone,

I’m having trouble connecting to a Magelis HMISTO532 panel using EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic. Here’s what I’ve tried so far:

 

Panel status:

 

The HMI shows the message:
“Cannot Load Runtime - Waiting for connection…”

It’s in download mode, powered on and functional.

 

 

Connection attempts:

 

I’ve tried mini-USB and Ethernet.

Disabled WiFi to avoid IP conflicts.

Ran Advanced IP Scanner and found the HMI at IP: 10.10.139.158.

However, it does not show up in the commissioning interface of EcoStruxure.

I’ve changed connection ports, but it still doesn’t work.

 

 

Questions:

 

What port should I connect to exactly?

Do I need to install the Runtime using Vijeo Designer before using EcoStruxure?

Is this panel (HMISTO532) even compatible with EcoStruxure Machine Expert - Basic?

Hi,

• You can use Ethernet port either to transfer the Vijeo Designer application or communicate with the M221.
• Installation of the runtime is done automatically when you transfer the applicationh from Vijeo Designer.
• Your HMI is compatible with M221 plc programmed with Machine Expert Basic.
