MQTT_Comm\MQTTClient Connection Fail

Hi I am using the NX1P2 controller to connect the MQTT Distributor module on an Ignition gateway, but I am running into an error where the first connection attempt after restarting the gateway always fails. The function block outputs that it is connected, but it also shows that no session is present. The function block shows no error code, and doesn't pause before saying it is connected.

From the Ignition side by looking through the logs I can see no difference in connection signals depending no whether the session is present or not. I tried turning on anonymous connection, but that didn't change the error.

This also isn't an issue with the firewall as the port is open to all messages from the PLC's IP address.

Any ideas on what could be causing this?
