ratcliffe_ic Posted September 23, 2005 Report Posted September 23, 2005 I need to modify an S5 system (CPU 102), I have uploaded the program from the processor and can both view and edit it offline. However when I try to edit it online I get the following message: OPERATION BLOCKED BY PRESETS OK, I'll edit it offline then download it to the processor, result is: OPERATION BLOCKED BY PRESETS I am presuming there is a method by which the processor can be "locked " to prevent the code being tampered with. Can anyone tell me if this is the case and point me in the right direction to overcome this problem. Many thanks Quote

JVL. Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Is it possible that there is a E(E)-prom in the CPU? I can imaging that a e-prom blocks a download. In the newer cpu's it insn't JVL. Quote
Guest Guest_ratcliffe_ic Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 This problem was in Step 5 Version 6.6 Go to Projects > Settings > Page 2 and under the Mode setting select Allow Edits Note you must be connected to the processor to change this setting. Seems simple now, but the message was a bit misleading for a Siemens novice. Quote
