mg7 Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 Can the Tsx 3722 V4.0 counting module (digital) be used for reading encoder information, if so could any body point me in the right direction or is a high speed card the way to go. soft ware used PL7 V4.2 ( at the presant cams and prox sensors are used as inputs, but when the speed of the cycle is increased the action of pneumatic cylinders are advancing) Any pointers would be of great help... Thanks in advance Mick Quote
mg7 Posted October 6, 2005 Author Report Posted October 6, 2005 (edited) the tsx3722 has an on board up/down counter ( channel 11) of upto 5kHz Could this Channel be used for reading the encoder pulses? ( the motor shaft would turn any thing from 1 to 30RMP ) Mick Edited October 6, 2005 by mg7 Quote
Wordman Posted October 6, 2005 Report Posted October 6, 2005 The module will handle an encoder with a Totem Pole type output Quote
mg7 Posted October 6, 2005 Author Report Posted October 6, 2005 thanks Sparky for your advice, revisting my problem looks like an absolute encoder module ( TSXCTZ1B) may be the way to go if position is required through out the cycle,,, That is of course if there is no cheepo method.............
