gravitar Posted December 13, 2005 Report Posted December 13, 2005 Hello! I recently bought a "grab bag" of PLC cables on ebay, and in the box was a cable marked "MODICON AS-W952-012". It has a DB9M with an angled plug, and a DB9F with a straight plug on the other end. I'm just curious what this cable would be used for. Who knows, some day I might have need for it! thanks! Quote
undercontrol Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 As far as I know, it's programming cable for Modicon 984 PLC which is obsolete now. Quote
jstolaruk Posted December 14, 2005 Report Posted December 14, 2005 Maybe for new purchases but the installed base for 984 is quite large. The cable is deemed is a general purpose Modbus cable not necessarily limited to a 984. Quote
gravitar Posted December 16, 2005 Author Report Posted December 16, 2005 Great, I had hoped it would be useful in a variety of applications. I'll put it away incase a Modicon job comes up! Quote
