John Crombie Posted February 28, 2006 Report Posted February 28, 2006 Hello Has anyone used the new Modbus card QJ71MB91? Does anyone know if it runs RTU or TCP? I am assuming it will work with Modbus RTU because it has an RS232 and RS422 / 485 connections and also in section 4.2.1 of the manual it describes RTU as an available frame mode. cheers John Quote
roger10 Posted March 1, 2006 Report Posted March 1, 2006 (edited) Hi John, the QJ71MB91 runs only with RTU (RS232, RS422/485), for TCP/IP use the QJ71MT91. With the GX-Configurator-MB it's easy to configure and the handling is also good. You can also use the module as master and/or as slave. Edited March 1, 2006 by roger10 Quote
John Crombie Posted March 1, 2006 Author Report Posted March 1, 2006 Roger10 Thanks for your reply. I suspected it was RTU capable, its good to hear that the Configurator software is easy to use as well. cheers John Quote
roger10 Posted March 2, 2006 Report Posted March 2, 2006 Hi John, the configuraton with the GX-Configurator-MB is nearly the same as the configuration for the analog cards. that means you have to do switch settings in the PLC parameters I/O assignment and settings with the intelligent utility function tool.
