panic mode Posted April 8, 2006 Report Posted April 8, 2006 did you search this forum? maybe this can help: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?showtopic=518&hl=qc24 Any terminal emulator should work. I was using Hyperterminal on many occasions. It can be very awkward sometimes but it works. You can check download section. There should be a much simpler to use program called SuperMon or something like that. If you are new to communication, do some testing BEFORE connecting PLC. This will help you understand all the settigns and signal functions. This is essential when figuring out what type of cable you need etc. For example try to connect two computers (hint: you will need crossover cable or so called null-modem cable). I suggest making your own (2-3, 3-2 and 5-5). Then enable handshaking and see what happens etc. (hint: to use handshaking, one must wire the remaining signals). Hope this helps... Quote
andybr Posted April 10, 2006 Report Posted April 10, 2006 I do not have the manuals to hand but if you have followed the instructions in the manuals I suspect that you have a cable problem. I would check 2 things in particular:- i)Make absolutely sure that your cable is connected exactly as shown in the manual. The handshaking pins have to be linked to enable comms. ii)Check that your cable is actually a Null Modem configuration. If you are connecting a 25 pin to a 9 pin connector the correct connections are 2-2 and 3-3 as the layouts are reversed for the 2 types of connector. Andybr Quote
gwada Posted April 11, 2006 Author Report Posted April 11, 2006 well i have done the modification about the (2-2 and 3-3 pin) but the computer link module send nothing in no protocole mode. I just want send a ascii message and read it whith hyperteminal. can you give me sample of connection type please. Quote
andybr Posted April 11, 2006 Report Posted April 11, 2006 gwada Input X1 is the data received flag and will only be set when the card has received valid data. This should be removed and the code should then work. If you still have a problem then try setting the card for protocol 1 and see if you can get GX Developer to go online via the card. This will identify whether you have a cable problem or not. Quote
gwada Posted April 13, 2006 Author Report Posted April 13, 2006 it is ok the mainly problem was the configuration of the connection cable thank a lot Quote
