Chris Elston Posted May 4, 2006 Report Posted May 4, 2006 Anyone know where Jay Anthony has been? I miss him ranting and raving in the Omron forums... Quote
ECSI Posted May 5, 2006 Report Posted May 5, 2006 I have been wondering that myself. 'Jay in Dallas' used to solve 80-90% of the Omron problems when I first joined MrPLC....now we never hear his wisdom! Quote
Jay Anthony Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 You don't know how much free time you had until you take an upper mid-level management job. I am working a sixty hour plus work week for Omron now. Since November, I have had to "turn the technical switch off" and I am buried knee deep in statistical and accounting spreadsheets. I now schedule and manage projects for 25+ great Omron application engineers. My deepest apologies for those who have PM'd me and have gotten no response. I have struggled with spending the extra 2 hours a day to resolve some of these requests and hate to pick and choose those to which I can reply. So I made the decision to just stop replying all together. MrPLC.com has a special place in my heart as I have seen it grow through three evolutions of forum hosting software and become a quality, world class haven for those who wander the maze of automation. Know that MrPLC.com is still part of my daily morning routine and occasionally I will lend whatever expertise or resources I can when necessary. There are plenty of fine contributors who can provide answers and comment on sticky issues. Maybe I will get a chance to retire early and come back with full force. Quote
TimWilborne Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Well I hate that but hope the promotion was what you wanted. No offense but with such a technical background is seems such a waste to have you do accounting and spreadsheets. But perhaps we will end up with 25 application engineers with your expertise with your guidance. Wish you the best Quote
BobLfoot Posted May 7, 2006 Report Posted May 7, 2006 Jay Anthony here is hoping that you give your engineers enough time in the day to contribute to MrPLC and 25 posters replace the rduced posting level of one jay Anthony. Quote
Chris Elston Posted May 8, 2006 Author Report Posted May 8, 2006 Jay, thanks for being there with me since the beginning...Jay is MEMBER #16!!! And having enough faith that we could do something like this for the automation community. Thank you Jay! Quote
