thuan_td95 Posted May 10, 2006 Report Posted May 10, 2006 Does anyone communicate SIPART DR20 and PLC S7-300/400 via CP PtP (Serial)? We have a lots of SIPART DR20 connected to S5 system and COROS-LSB. Now we need to upgrade the system with PLC S7-300 and WinCC. We would like to re-used the SIPART DR20 with communication modules 6DR2803-3A (serial communication module) but we do not know the SES protocol format. If possible, could you sent the communication project to my email address: thuan_td95@yahoo.com ? Thank you very much! Thuan Email: thuan_td95@yahoo.com
JesperMP Posted May 11, 2006 Report Posted May 11, 2006 Go to Siemens support site and search for Entry ID:7598083. It is the manual for the serial interface 6DR2210, maybe it is useful even if it is not the 6DR2803. Maybe a better option for you would be to install Profibus DP modules in the controllers in stead of the serial modules. You have the expense of the profibus modules, but on the other hand you save the expense for the CP340 modules. There are project examples with Sipart controllers connected via DP to S7 on Siemens' support site.
thuan_td95 Posted May 12, 2006 Author Report Posted May 12, 2006 Dear JesperMP, Thank you for your reply. I find some document in Siemens support website but as you know, SIPART DR20 is very old version and they have a little doc. I'm also understand that using Profibus module is better but I had not qouted in the quotation so that I should try with SES module. Customer have more than 20 module so that we should pay a lot of money for this mistake, so that we should try. If you have more information, please tell me. Thank you very much!
