cool341 Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Hello, I want to communicate Allen Bradley Control Logix PLC with Mitsubishi Q-Series on Ethernet. I am well conversant with AB Products but very new to Mitsubishi. I have already configured the Mitsubishi PLC and able to upload/download from PC via Ethernet and the system is working fine. I am using Q02H CPU and QJ1E71 Ethernet Module. Has anybody did any third party comm. with Allenbradley over Ethernet... even small clues can help... Please ask for any more inputs needed?? Regards Rohit Singhal Quote
Colin Carpenter Posted May 22, 2006 Report Posted May 22, 2006 Have never actually done it, but they tell me that the range of Beijers E-Terminals can act as converters to allow Mitsubishi to talk to Allen Bradley and vice versa. You can assign two PLCs to each HMI and translate accordingly ...... they tell me. Another option is to look up the Babel Box which I believe is made by Red Lion Controls with protocol conversion in mind. I would think that you're gonna have to go with a "third party" supplier on this one, as I imagine "Allen Bradley" is a swear word at Mitsubishi and vice versa Quote
MikeGranby Posted May 23, 2006 Report Posted May 23, 2006 We have something called the Data Station Plus now, which is like the Babel Box on steroids. See the link below for more info... http://www.redlion.net/Products/HumanMachi...tationPlus.html Quote
cool341 Posted May 24, 2006 Author Report Posted May 24, 2006 Thanks for Replying....... Yesterday i was trying to communicate with the QJ71E71 Ethernet Module via FTP from the PC. But i was not able to do that with Internet Explorer.... Then i tried the same with the DOS and i was able to communicate and go inside the Module, there are some dedicated FTP commands which i have to learn now. Also Reading and writing function is also available but i m still trying to do that.... I am attaching the Manual which describes different ways to communicate with the Ethernet Module... If somwbody has done the similar work ... please help!!! Thanks Rohit Singhal Ethernet_Module_UM_Application.pdf Quote

Wow, that looks an awesome piece of kit .... will definitely keep that in mind for future jobs. Shame you changed the name, though .... "Babel Box" just had so much more "mystique" than Data Station Plus Quote
