I remembered I had this bit of software called CX-relay..... I did;nt write it, so i don;t have the source code to modify it..... download at your own discretion....I or MR PLC do not take any responsibility for its use or intended use, content or lack of functionality.... BTW how do you think that the comm;s port at a 5VDC TTL level and current would be enough to drive the coil of a 5A relay? Realistically... You could use your method by putting a PLC in between the Relay and PC....and writing a driver to turn a PLC output on...Alternatively look at some dedicated Relay boards that can be driven from a PC.
