TimWilborne Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 I need to measure the amperage pull of one of our branch circuits but my clamsp won't go around the wires. I have an Amprobe DM1 which has about a 2" clamp. I need something around 9" in diameter to get around all of the wires. On another thought that doesn't seem the correct way to do it but... The DM1 is a 3 phase ampmeter. None of the wires will have exactly the same resistance so in theory the one with the least resistance should pull the most amps and the one with the most resistance should pull the least amps and the other should fall respectively in the middle. Could I use all 3 clamps to measure one legs amp pull. Just take the 3 readings and add them up? Forget that idea. The 3 clamps combine won't go around all of the wires Going to have to find some type of straps. Any ideas? Quote
TConnolly Posted June 9, 2006 Report Posted June 9, 2006 Will this do the trick? http://us.fluke.com/usen/products/Accessor...(FlukeProducts) There are several other models as well. Quote
