Disar Posted June 19, 2006 Report Posted June 19, 2006 Hello, I am a Control Systems Intern and am in the process of updating a machine my company bought several years ago. It was not designed well and the code does not work 100%. One of the issues was safety. I have recently came across a SafeScan 9B in our warehouse and plan on using it on our machine. I realized that the model we are working with only has 1 NC and 1 NO set of contacts. We need to use two NC contacts (maybe even more, we have two machines that need to be stopped when the field on the SafeScan is broken). Is there a way to make the single NC contact into TWO NC contacts? We were thinking of using an external relay to perform this task. Is this recommended? Does anyone have recommendations on how else to perform this task? Thanks! Quote
Disar Posted June 20, 2006 Author Report Posted June 20, 2006 We are actually planning on buying a safety relay to perform the "expansion" of our contacts (NC). Quote
