I've used the "setting the real time clock" code in 9.2.1 of the Programming Manual 2. It's a hassle. Is there any way to set the RTC via computer while connected? Thanks.

How about using the "Set time" option under the "Online" menu? Is this option available in your GX Developer?

I've never had to do all that you mentioned. The clock is stored in D8013-D8019. But in order to modify it there, you need to stop the clock by turning on an M bit (M8015), then write new data, then start it back up by turning off M8015. There are commands to deal with the real time clock (TRD to read clock and TWR to write it) which work without the excess code. TRD is section 5.14.5 of the JY992D88101-D programming manual, and TWR is section 5.14.6. The code in the example 9.2.1 stops the clock, writes new data, then rounds off the minutes and starts the clock again.

The set time functionality under online menu in GX Developer is also available in the FX1S type. In this way you can set the clock inside this PLC. And it is like Crossbow said, it is not so difficult.
