scatter17 Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 In siemens S5 115U,what is the communication used in its port..it is for RS232 or TTY?...In coversion of S5 to S7,from S5 there is interupt I/o module,,but i wrongly purchased only ordinary I/O module in S7, i have known that S5 has slow time respone in I/O,does S7 ordinary I/O module compensate the speed? Or there other way to program in S7 so that it has the same speed with I/O interupt module of S5?..pls help..thanks Quote
JesperMP Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Hi scatter17. The PG port in front of the CPU is TTY. Yes, S7 is much faster than S5. So maybe you can use a normal input module. What CPU was the S5 ? What CPU is the S7 ? What is the interrupt inputs connected to ? What rate is the input changing with ? What is the duration of the impulse on an input ? Quote
JesperMP Posted August 17, 2006 Report Posted August 17, 2006 I mean the rate of change of the signal from the connected sensor.A 314 is not the fastest CPU in the S7-300 series. So it may be difficult to achieve "fast input" response. Maybe the proper solution is to get the right input card. Quote
