Chris Elston Posted August 15, 2006 Report Posted August 15, 2006 Using PME or VersaPro, is there a way to compare two programs OFFLINE? Allen Bradley has this built into their software. I can compare two programs offline. I know I can be connected to the PLC, then open another program and do a verify to the PLC. However if you don't have the PLC it's a little bit tricky to try and do this. I have both PME and VersaPro if you know of any compare tricks. I didn't see anything in either software. Quote
Chris Elston Posted August 15, 2006 Author Report Posted August 15, 2006 It looks like I can do this with GE Change managment. Is that included with PME 5.0? I see it wants me to connect to a change managment server. I don't have one configured. Does someone else have one? Could I attach both programs and have you load them into change managment and you spit out a report for me? Quote
tbode Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 I have a trial copy of GE Compare that does exactly what you want. Unfortunately for me, it does not support the new PAC system logic yet. If you want to send me your program files I would be glad to try running a report to send back to you. According to my GE sources, the next verssion of Machine Edition will have this feature included, but I do not know if PAC support will be there yet. Quote
Chris Elston Posted August 16, 2006 Author Report Posted August 16, 2006 Thanks, both programs are Versa Pro with GE 90-30 CPU. Here they are. - oldprogram.zip newprogram.zip Quote
tbode Posted August 16, 2006 Report Posted August 16, 2006 Here is what it output. Look at the results.htm file. In the GE Compare module the results are formatted thru a custom module. There is no print option. I have also included the GE Compare compiled help file for your reference. compares.zip Quote
