TimWilborne Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 We had a tech from a company that we purchased a piece of equipment from in here today and he got the encoder and drive cables mix up (don't ask) and has shorted out the 24VDC power of the drive The part number of the drive is a FR-S520E-3.7K-NA. Does anyone know if these drives have any type of fusing on their control circuit or are we going to have to get another drive real quick? Thanks TW Quote
pseudoquas Posted August 25, 2006 Report Posted August 25, 2006 hmm...I recall from my drive service work (2 + years ago, for what its worth - I do servos only now!) that the control power supply for almost every type of drive is board-mounted on the "base driver board" and that for some reason, it seems that the industry standard is no fuse protection. So...you could order a new base driver board and replace the existing one, which should be buried in the back of the drive...fun fun fun....make sure you have plenty of sticky wire labels for the surgery and about 2-4 hours depending on size. TimWilborne Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 I figured the answer was no fuses but it was worth a shot Thanks TW Quote
TimWilborne Posted August 26, 2006 Author Report Posted August 26, 2006 Got a call today and supposively they are going to do something about it, but definately no fuses. Don't care what they do as long as it is ready to go Monday Quote
