TimWilborne Posted September 13, 2006 Report Posted September 13, 2006 Mo_AB_4EVER posted THIS in the gallery. Got a nice chuckle out of it Quote
panic mode Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Not something to attach to a resume, that's for sure. It's as impressive as the one that looks like it came from survivor TV series: http://forums.mrplc.com/index.php?act=modu...=si&img=137 Quote
TimWilborne Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 Come on now Panic, so Alaric can't build a control panel but he sure can program Only kidding Alaric Quote
BobLfoot Posted September 14, 2006 Report Posted September 14, 2006 Like you have't used your air share of bubble gum and baling wire TW. LOL Quote
TimWilborne Posted September 14, 2006 Author Report Posted September 14, 2006 Yes I am guilty. THIS thread explains Alaric's Gas Can Panel and I also confess to one of my nice cardboard panels in it But Bob, I don't chew gum. Electrical Tape and Baling Wire is what I use. You would be amazed what a roll of electrical tape can hold up and we buy baling wire by the tractor trailer load. It can be used for anything. Quote
BobLfoot Posted September 15, 2006 Report Posted September 15, 2006 Electrical Tape, I am jealous now We have to settle for duct or masking tape. LOL Quote
TimWilborne Posted September 15, 2006 Author Report Posted September 15, 2006 Duct tape does not have the shock absorption feature of electrical tape. You equipment will fail prematurely due to impact Quote
DWControls Posted September 18, 2006 Report Posted September 18, 2006 gorillatape is more resilient than duct tape. Quote
TimWilborne Posted September 23, 2006 Author Report Posted September 23, 2006 Don't forget the GorillaGlue also Never know when you might have a flat tire Quote
TConnolly Posted October 2, 2006 Report Posted October 2, 2006 I find that aluminum foil tape is a good choice for use in an electrical panel. (note to idiots: This is a sarcastic comment. Don't use foil tape anywhere near electricity!) Quote
TimWilborne Posted October 2, 2006 Author Report Posted October 2, 2006 Why not? You could use it for a transformer winding. (note to idiots: This is a sarcastic comment also) Quote
ianbuckley Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Hey now! Foil tape actually works quite well as a temporary shield from radiated noise. It's a good way to show when shielded cable should have been used (or wires need to be rerouted). After all, that is what makes up the shield in a shielded cable anyway. Not recommending it be left in permanently, but as a temporary troubleshooting tool, it is not only for idiots... Quote
TConnolly Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 The note was addressed to idiots, not smart engineers. (only thing is, you didn't pick up on that. ) (wink, nudge, tee hee) Quote
Big Country Posted October 7, 2006 Report Posted October 7, 2006 Its sad to say but there are machines in my factory that loook worse than that. The guy that was here before me didn't really care alot about how it looked or how it worked for that matter. Quote
TConnolly Posted October 9, 2006 Report Posted October 9, 2006 The guys over in our plant in France used to call my predecessor "la especialist du spaghetti" (only guessing on the French spelling here, but you get the idea.) Fortunately most of that has been replaced now. Quote
