The flow meters that are a vertical glass tube with a float that rises with increased flow are called rotameters. They can either have an adjustment valve built in as an option or not and very frequently do not. They do not have great turn-down, but when sized for the flow rate desired can be entirely adequate. There are all styles, from cheap plastic see-throughs to armored, steel encased styles for both pressure reasons and physical abuse protection. Vendors like Dwyer carry them and I'm sure Google will give you 42,439 hits, too. Dan

Check out McMaster Carr we had problems with operator cranking the gas up to high so we installed non adjustable flowmeters in line with the regulator. So far it has worked and proven as cost savings.
