TimWilborne Posted September 30, 2006 Report Posted September 30, 2006 I know this is off topic but QC asked me if I knew of any non adjustable gas flowmeters for Welders Argon gas. It would be in the range of 50 fpm Thanks TW Quote
DanW Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 The flow meters that are a vertical glass tube with a float that rises with increased flow are called rotameters. They can either have an adjustment valve built in as an option or not and very frequently do not. They do not have great turn-down, but when sized for the flow rate desired can be entirely adequate. There are all styles, from cheap plastic see-throughs to armored, steel encased styles for both pressure reasons and physical abuse protection. Vendors like Dwyer carry them and I'm sure Google will give you 42,439 hits, too. Dan Quote
TimWilborne Posted October 3, 2006 Author Report Posted October 3, 2006 I didn't know they were available without the adjustment. I will pass this on Thanks TW Quote
Big Country Posted October 3, 2006 Report Posted October 3, 2006 Check out McMaster Carr we had problems with operator cranking the gas up to high so we installed non adjustable flowmeters in line with the regulator. So far it has worked and proven as cost savings. Quote
