bryan372002 Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Hey Guys, sure could use some help with truth table project, this is new to me, any help is appreciated. the project is this. I have 5 limit switches all wired normally open, when any 2 of the switches are made the machine will run and operate normally. if at any time more than 2 switches are made an alarm will sound. I used output 1 for my machine run output, and output 2 is my alarm output. below is what i have come up with, is this correct? Quote
Sleepy Wombat Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 When only one input machine is stopped When two inputs machine started and runn's When three + inputs alarm sounds....does the machine also have to stop ? Thats what your table indicates but you did not describe like that. Quote
bryan372002 Posted October 5, 2006 Author Report Posted October 5, 2006 Well The project spec does not state whether an alarm stops the machine or not, and I know assume means to make an a** out of you and me, but i did assume that would be the case. which I can change that pretty quickly, my main question is assuming the machine does not run under an alarm is the truth table complete and correct? Thanks Sleepy Quote
Sleepy Wombat Posted October 5, 2006 Report Posted October 5, 2006 Secondly, Output 2 should come on for 16 states, you aint listed all of them So no it is not complete. All up you would have 32 states for the machine ie 2^5 (2 power of 5)... only look at this once you work it out... Quote
