Goody Posted October 12, 2006 Report Posted October 12, 2006 It was fill ya boots time yesterday. A customer of mine has moved premises and downgraded his business. The machines he didnt want - he sold and the ones he couldnt sell, he has called for the scrap man. But he was nice enough to ask me if I wanted any electrical controls from the machines that were going to the junk yard. Talk about double bonus - a lot of these machines I have upgraded over the last 10 years putting all mitsubishi PLC gear in them - from FX0n's to FX2n's. I charged him for them then and have now become the owner of them again. :) My gosh, I was busy yesterday - its amazing how hard you will work when you are getting quality gear for free Never have I had such a stock of mitsi spares and perfectly re-usable plc's and hmi's A machine that I didnt refit or have anytthing to do with had a FX 48MR with add on input modules plus some anolouge/digital input and output units. namely 1, FX-4AD, 1, FX-2DA. So that I can catorgarize them - even though they are now obsolete - are they reliable - could I put them into service again or should I keep them as just spares. I dont need them for anything and to be honest if I put them in the stores they will probably gather dust until I retire. They are big ugly things and I think they will only directly connect to the FX unit only - or am I wrong :) Quote

I've certainly connected other FX extension cards to an FX2N with no trouble at all, so I don't see why the analogue modules should be any different. Quote
The Cat Posted October 13, 2006 Report Posted October 13, 2006 I think you are right Colin. If memory serves me correctly, the FX-2DA and the FX-4AD were the standard solution when FX2N was introduced until the "correct" modules were fully available. Quote
Crossbow Posted October 14, 2006 Report Posted October 14, 2006 They could be used with the FX2N with the conversion adapter, but the better bet is new FX2N-4AD and FX2N-4DA modules. If you're looking to reuse old equipment, there's no reason those modules could not be reused. Quote
