scatter17 Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 i have an npn rotary encoder,,but my plc i will used need pnp input..can anyone may suggest a possible solution for conversion of this? can i used an 10 to 30vdc npn to pnp converter available in market? tnxs in advance.. Quote
TimWilborne Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 What is the PLC and encoder? Many can be switched from PNP to NPN and vice versa. I don't think a converter would be a good idea because of response time but have never used one to evaluate it Quote
IO_Rack Posted October 16, 2006 Report Posted October 16, 2006 We use these all over the place. Scroll all the way to the bottom and look for the 16 Pin DIP Socket Carrier. Use a PS2501-4 Quad Opto Coupler. and build this circuit. I'm not sure about response time. But the descrete circuitry is pretty fast. Here are the specs for the PS2501-4. Quote
Sleepy Wombat Posted October 23, 2006 Report Posted October 23, 2006 You could probalby get away with simple 2.2 ohm pull up resistpors as per example attached Quote
