I am having trouble with a drive, irraticaly it will go off and stay for awhile then it may come back on for a couple seconds then go off again. Any ideas what could make it be doing this?

Does the drive show any fault codes? How are you commanding the drive to run? How does it get its speed command? If the drive doesn't display any fault codes, check the wiring.

No faults and it acts as if there is no power applied to the drive but there is. It is being controlled by dry contacts via relays. When I left today it wasa still running fine, I just think that it is going to be one of those 3 in the morning calls

Does the drive switch off whilst it is operating or idle? Typically, what I am aiming at is the overvoltage situation. I have had it before where a drive would simply "switch off" only to restart a few seconds later. The cause of this was the brake resistor being incorrectly wired. My electrician at the time had removed a jumper that needed to remain connected. If the comparator circuit measures a very high dc bus voltage, it might want to protect itself or go into a tripped state. What does bother me is the fact there is no log/ history of errors that have occured. Do you have a part number for this drive?

Yes I do it is a Fuji 5000G9S drive. What bothers me is that it has ran fine all day with no problems, I am looking at buying a spare to put in stock just in case. But I hate to tie up 1500.00 dollars in a stock item when I am not 100% sure what is wrong with it.
