Gamble Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 I do a lot of work making test equipment for automotive parts, primarily made of plastic and for interiors. I'm trying to find a versatile device to use to mark each part as they pass tests. Maybe a stamp, punch, or sticker that will insure that the part was tested and passed. I'm open to many options but it must be versatile enough to install on different machines with different space requirements. The simpler the better. Is there anything like this out there? Any suggestions? Quote
panic mode Posted October 18, 2006 Report Posted October 18, 2006 there are so many options from laser etching, inking, label printing, punching, stamping to simple pneumatic cylinder with permanent marker... Quote
Chris Elston Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 I've done LOTS of automotive machines, and I seen automotive customer ask for everything from prickers to laser markers. The simpliest I've seen is a BIMBA cylinder with a three prong pricker on the end, three prick marks is GOOD, two prick marks are BAD. So you need to find a spot on your part it's ok to prick. The MOST expensive, but way kewl device I've used to date is a Keyence laser marker...It can mark 6 characters, 6mm wide by 2.2mm high in 33msec....it's just a flash of light....and will set you back around $30K....it's the MOST flexible by all means if you have 30K.... Maybe the Bimba cylinder part pricker is what you need. Quote
jstolaruk Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 Columbia Marking Tools makes a wider range of marking equipment. http://columbiamt.com/default.htm Quote
Big Country Posted October 19, 2006 Report Posted October 19, 2006 You might want to look at a company called Pro-Pen also. Quote
